Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by a variety of sources. They could run using LP gas or liquid propane, gasoline, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for many uses. There are various facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they need. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders that can be changed out when the machinery needs to be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you should truly be careful so as to prevent possible serious injuries. Like for instance: be sure to wear the correct safety equipment like heavy gloves, safety glasses or goggles. Make certain that you turned off the forklift ignition before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is securely closed. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Keep in mind that it would turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never use a metal tool or any type of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened only by using the hand.
