Telescoping Boom Lifts
Telescoping booms lifts are designed to mount a work bucket on a straight, extendable arm which is situated on a rotating turntable. Usually, telescoping boom lifts are utilized for tasks which need reaching at maximum height, exceeding other kinds of lifts. Like for example, employees can carry out exterior repairs or renovations on medium sized buildings but using these lifts rather than having the additional work of setting up a pulley system or an outside elevator.
The boom lift is only designed to hold one person. These buckets are more suited to specific tasks like electrical repair, rather than general maintenance or window washing. These lifts come in electric and gas configurations and are available with both outdoor and indoor tires.
Scissor Lifts
Below the scissor lifts work platform are the cross braces in which the machine gets its name. When the braces move together it pushes the platform straight up. Because these types of equipment should be directly positioned under the work site, compared to boom lifts, these units are way more limited in their use.
Scissor lifts do, on the other hand, provide larger platforms that allow the operator controlling the lift to access a bigger work surface when the lift is raised. With scissor lifts, all-terrain capability is less of an issue with these models, because they should sit on flat ground in order to be used. Scissor lifts are great for being used for cladding or window installation, since they provide the workers with the desired mobility; they are also a good alternative for window cleaning applications or exterior repairs.
Boom Trucks vs. Cranes
Bucket trucks, cherry pickers and boom trucks each refer to the class a kind of utility vehicle used particularly for vertical work. Generally, these trucks have a cab. It is here where the operator sits and controls the machine. There is a bucket for where the worker could stand as well as a winch for lifting and an actuator arm for lifting the boom.
Cherry pickers could raise workers up to heights that were previously inaccessible. The cranes function is to lift both heavy materials and equipment for one location to another. There are different kinds of cranes which can perform various purposes. Both of these different kinds of equipment excel at different tasks and are suitable for certain applications and finishing particular jobs.
